A traditional club with a progressive outlook, Leighton Buzzard Golf club is owned and managed by its members for the benefit of its members, with unlimited competitive and social golf and free access to six other top-class courses all for the payment of a one-off annual fee.
A ‘not-for-profit’ community orientated business where friendships are forged in a warm and welcoming environment, every penny the Club receives is spent on maintaining and improving the 18-hole course, carved out of woodland and sandy heathland nestling in the folds of the Bedfordshire-Buckinghamshire border, and supporting services including professional green staff, administration, bar and catering teams.
While the Leighton course may not be the longest in the county, at over 6,000 yards it demands the highest standards of accuracy and is aptly described as “a thinking man’s golf course.” It’s where Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter, an honourary Life Member at Leighton, honed his golfing skills on his way to 17 major career wins so far. A new club house, with extensive changing, bar and catering facilities as well as a major function room and smaller meeting rooms, was opened in 1998, and features two balcony areas overlooking the course
