“We are thrilled with the partnership between our YWC Network
and Leighton Park Rangers”
The unique partnership between Leighton Park Rangers and the Rotary “Yes
We Can” Network is providing a platform for those with SEND to thrive and
enjoy the national pastime.
The programme currently provides an established pathway, under
experienced qualified coaches, from the age of nine/ten played for fun
through to full adult football played competitively in the Berks, Bucks & Ox
Inclusion League. The programme is there to help anyone with SEND who
wants to play football and may not feel comfortable in a mainstream team or
club. The programme also recognises the challenges that individuals and
parents/ carers face and therefore currently provides training facilities and kit
etc at no cost.
Rotary spokesperson Richard Johnson OBE said: “We are thrilled with the
partnership between our YWC Network and Leighton Park Rangers and
delighted that so many participants are getting the chance to play football
that would otherwise be denied to them. We strongly urge anyone with
SEND to consider sport and very definitely our unique football provision .
YWC is the largest integrated sports programme of its kind in Bedfordshire
and we are pleased to welcome participants from across the county and
indeed the surrounding areas so please do give it a go”
