After a slow start and conceding a very quick early try the mighty Leighton Buzzard second team really grew into the game. Some very heavy-duty tackling and carrying really got the forward’s buzzards piling on the pressure and working down the slope they scored four unanswered tries.

In his debut senior rugby appearance, Rhys Betley was imperious in the Line out collecting 100% of buzzard ball and stealing two against the head.

Uncontested scums from the outset due to Sharnbrook not being able to field a starting from row really sped up the game and allowed the game to be played at a very quick pace.

Some crunching tackles and great ruck turnovers from the second row PJ Fraser kept the pressure on the visitors however a mistimed thundering hit on their nine lead to an unfortunate yellow card early in the second half.

Two quick brilliant individual scores from Sharnbrook and Colworth during this time turned the game on its head with the visitors now playing down the hill they pulled the score to within three points.

Buzzards rallied around to finish the game and with some sustained pressure and some awesome organisation from fly-half Jake wheeler they scored two late tries to seal the win.

A truly dogged performance from all players choosing a player of the match was very difficult but Gary Low was a stalwart in defence and attack catching and returning with interests every kick off.

Well done to the boys with a great win over a talented team.

Man of the match Gary Low for his three tries and excellent lineout work and play in the loose.
