Leighton Fun Runners had a great success with their 10k race on Sunday 17th September which returned to the town after a period of having been hosted from Long Marston. 327 runners lined up at the start in Pages Park and made their way around Govebury Road, the quarry, Tiddenfoot Waterside Park and back to Pages Park where a scrumptious selection of tea and cakes awaited them. The event has raised in excess of £3,000, which will be donated to the club charity 4Louis.
Congratulations to the first male home Stephen Buckle from St Albans Striders in 34’15 and first lady Monica Petrosino from Leighton Buzzard Athletic Club in 40′ 38. Full results and photos of the event may be found on the club website here
