Teenage Leighton golfing brothers who attend the same school have both figured prominently in a major County competition.
Henry and George Wooster, both pupils at Cedars Upper school and members of Leighton Buzzard’s Plantation Road club, were amongst the 36-strong field in the Bedfordshire Schools County Scratch championships organised by Leighton-based former teacher David Sweetnam.
Older brother George was the only player in the event to play below his handicap, his nett 65 being the lowest score on a course with slick greens on a windy day.
While George finished 6th overall, younger brother Henry finished runner-up in the Under 16 Scratch championship, carding a creditable 84 shots for his 18-hole round.
* George Stephenson and Sam Harris won Leighton Juniors Millenium foursomes, beating Max Brunker and Josh Thorne in a sudden-death shoot out on the 19th hole.
