Chef Eddie Edwards teamed up with Colin Jeffery to win Leighton Buzzard golf club’s Bunny Winter trophy by a point.
They beat 61 other pairs in the greensome competition with a 45 point haul, a shot clear of Pardeep and Theo Aurora, John Ager and Barry Wills and Roger Shoesmith and David Woulds.
David Embury and Ben Irvine, Steve Hammond and John Scott and Tom Day and Steve Light headed a chasing pack with 43 points, a shot clear of Jon Dymock and Peter Myrants. The following nine pairs all finished with 41 points.
Robin and Carmen White-Lawes won the Leighton Sagalouts annual three-day competition at Stoke-by-Nayland with 137 points, with event organisers Barbara and Phil Rickard runners-up. Former club Captain John Bateman was top two-round scorer with 79 points, while Barbara Rickard was leading lady with 71 points.
Leighton golfer Keith Edmunds won the Sandhouse Society meeting at the Plantation Road club on Friday, carding 43 points to win the Captain’s Trophy. Runner-up a shot adrift was John Clavey, while Paul Ellam took third place on countback from Stuart Oliver after both finished with 41 points, one clear of Steve Boud and Colin Aitken.
There were nearest-the-pin prizes for Ian Rimmer, Phil Rickard, John Clavey, Chris Newnham and Steve Boud.
