GOLFERS BACK IN  ACTION

Leighton Buzzard golfers were back in action yesterday (Monday) after a three-month pandemic lockdown.

Members  of the Plantation Road club were out at first light and by the close of play, around 200 had completed their first rounds since the lockkdown was impose4 in early Janurary to help curb the spread of the deadly Corona virus..

Said Club Captain Simon Rossiter, who joined colleagues Graham Freer, Trevor McAleese and Darran Valentine; “It’s wonderful to be back on the golf course after the long lockdown restriction and to have some good news at last.   I am acutely aware that it is a  privilege to be able to play golf as the entire coountry continues to gradually come out of lockdown, but the club will continue to be vigilent  in keeping all CovId compliance regulations closely adhered to.  We  look forward to the continued lifting of restrictions so everyone in our Leighton Buzzard community can return to normal life as soon as possible.”

While access to the club house remains restricted, the club now has new “Halfway House” facilities for refreshments.  Cancelled competitions and inter-club matches being rescheduled.
