GOLF BACK AFTER FOUR WEEK SHUTDOWN….

Golf is back on the sporting menu as from tomorrow (Wed 2nd December) after a month-long national lockdown to help curb the spread of the covid virus.
Almost 300 Leighton Buzzard members have booked slots to play their Plantation Road course, with fourball groups teeing off at ten-minute intervals from 8am.
Although virus infection rates in Central Bedfordshire are amongst the lowest in the country, clubhouse facilities will be limited by the current Tier Two restrictions, with the situation kept under regular review.
Whilst playing access to the course will continue, members hoping to win a juicy locally bred turkey for Christmas will have to rely on their luck rather than their playing skills. In order to comply with social distancing
requirements, the Club has decided to cancel four competitions, the leading scorers in which would have bagged a birdie of a different kind…..and have a draw for the turkey winners instead.
