NEW MEMBER DEAN POTS AN ACE…..

Just days after signing up as a member of Leighton Buzzard golf club, 35-year-old Dean Oakley hit the shot amateur golfers dream of – a hole in one.
Dean was playing only his third round since joining the Plantation Road club when his sweetly struck nine-iron shot on the 150-yard Par 3 11th ended up in the cup.
Bletchley based Dean, a 14-handicap golfer after 15 years in the sport, was accompanied by club director Phil Coumbe and two other players on a “get to know the course” round when he potted is tee shot against odds of 12,500 to one on Leighton’s tree-lined signature hole.
“Yes, it was a dream start and something I will always remember,” said Dean, whose golfing experiences before joining Leighton was playing casual social golf with friends.
Dean’s first ace comes just two weeks after club colleague Geoff Dimmock, a 78-year-old retired Leighton bookmaker, hit two holes-in-one in the space of a week on Leighton’s  Par 3 2nd hole, taking his total to nine aces since joining the Leighton club almost 30 years ago.
