Leighton Linslade Town Council and CHUMS have sponsored these safeTALK training sessions. Diane Barnes is a qualified safeTALK trainer and is delivering 2 free training session for up to 30 people each. The course is open to adults and anyone 15 years old and over.
safeTALK is suicide alertness for everyone helping create suicide safer communities. It will prepare you to connect with people who have thoughts of suicide. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t want to die – instead, they are looking for a way to work through the pain in their lives. safeTALK teaches participants to engage with the person and connect them with resources, to help them be safer from suicide.
The training session is approx. 3 ½ hours, and will feature video presentations & interactive elements for open discussion and practice stimulating learning.
The two dates are:
Saturday 9th November 2019, 9.30am to 1pm
OR Monday 11th November 2019, 10am to 1.30pm
Venue: The Meeting Room, Alpha marketing, Boss Avenue off Grovebury Avenue,
Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4SD with free parking and light refreshments.
