SPORTS CLUBS GET CASH FOR COACHING….

Five Leighton Buzzard based sports clubs have been awarded over £1,700 to help fund improved coaching facilities.
 
The awards have been made by the Leighton-Linslade Sports Council and were presented by Town Mayor Councillor Clive Palmer at the White House.
 
Pictured (front left to right) are Peter Crisp representing Leighton Hockey Club who were awarded £400; Town Mayor Councillor Clive Palmer, Dan Tunney, representing Leighton Town Youth football who received £400; (back)  Chris Beer representing Leighton Rugby Club who received £195; Richard Paterson, representing Woodside football club who received £400; and Darren Winfield, representing Leighton Road Cycling Club who were awarded £350.
 
Congratulating the award recipients, Mayor Palmer praised the many volunteers for giving up much of their spare time to help others get the most out of sport, adding that all the money awarded would be put to good use in improving the quality of coaching in the various organisations.
